Hi Everybody! It looks like spring is just about here and it’s time to kick my campaign for mayor into high gear!

I’ve been tremendously pleased by the reception I have received throughout the community as I’ve begun to spread my message about the need to Restore Leadership to Georgetown! The safety and quality of life in Georgetown has been under assault for 3 years and it’s time to step up and do something about it.

My plans for this campaign are relatively simple….I am asking for my friends and supporters to get involved and help me win this election. If I can get YOU to take just a little bit of time to help, I know our campaign will be successful.

Here is what I am asking each of you to do:

• Talk with your friends and relatives about the importance of this election and what it means to the future of Georgetown. Even if you don’t live in Georgetown at this time you still have friends living here that you can contact and ask to help with the campaign. If each of you will take the time every day to talk with 2 people, and get them to support our campaign, we will have a huge victory;

• Help make the community aware of your support for my election by putting Yard Signs and Bumper Stickers on your vehicles. Please call me at 863-4095 and I will personally deliver the signs and bumper stickers to you;

• Please consider hosting a neighborhood reception at your home where I can talk directly with your friends and neighbors about the issues they think are important. I have a group of people who are willing to help you set up these receptions and make it easy on you. You’re busy and I know that, but talking directly to your friends and neighbors is the most effective thing I can do make my campaign successful.

• Volunteer to hand out campaign materials in your neighborhood, and to use your social networking computer sites to promote my campaign with your friends. When I send you a message on Face Book please post it on your site so all of YOUR friends can see it. Also, encourage your friends to join the Varney for Mayor of Georgetown Face Book page.

One other important matter…In the upcoming weeks I will be disseminating position papers on issues that are important to Georgetown. The first position paper I have developed discusses what I believe is the primary issue in this campaign….the need for leadership in our community. Please check your Facebook site and take the time to read this and pass it along to your friends.

I need your help in this election. Please get involved, and if you have any questions about any issue, call me and I will give you an honest answer.

Thanks so much!

Everette Varney
